If you’ve got a vacation coming up, you must be so excited. However, there’s always a little apprehension in there. I don’t know about you, but I always worry that I’ll forget something when packing and this will ruin my trip! I know this is silly, as whatever it is I’ve forgotten I will usually be able to purchase in my destination. That being said, I’d be devastated if I forgot my favorite dress or new bag. Here’s my style checklist to make sure you have all of the essentials for your vacation:
You just can’t go on vacation without a trusty pair of shorts; I don’t care how old you are! They don’t have to be ripped and show off half your bum – you can leave that to the teens if you like. You can still find shorts that are suitable for more mature women, so make sure you invest and you’ll end up with a nice golden tan.
A quality pair of sandals will last for years, so make your decision wisely when shopping. I’ve had a pair of sandals for so many vacations I’ve lost count. I usually like to pick a pair that will go with everything, so I’ll go for a neutral shade. I’ll make sure the style is cool though, like those strappy gladiator sandals.
A flowing, light blouse is perfect for vacation. I like to wear things like this at night time when we’re going out for something to eat, as it’s classy but I’m not about to start sweating in it!
Did I even need to put these on the list? I thought I would anyway, just in case you’re as forgetful as me! These tops can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts; you name it. They can be accessorized to look better and more dressy, and they keep you nice and cool too. They’re also perfect for layering up and creating different looks!
A flowing skirt or pair of trousers is great for exploring your location in the day time, but they look great when transitioned over to night time too. For example, you could wear your flowing skirt/trousers with a camisole top and sandals in the day, then change into your blouse and a pair of wedges at night. Doubling up your items like this will save room in your suitcase too!
A Light Cardigan
A light cardigan is always in my hand luggage, as you never know when the weather will turn a little nippy.
Plenty of Accessories
I love swapping and changing my accessories to make an outfit look totally different, and I’m not about to stop just because I’m on vacation! I always have my Karen Walker sunglasses with me in the daytime, and I’ll pile on bangles and rings at night time.
A pretty summer dress is perfect for day or night, and will keep you lovely and cool.
If you can tick all of these things off your list, I’d say you’ve got everything you need to look your best on your vacation!
